Homemade Toothpaste
Baking Soda Hydrogen Peroxide Peppermint Essential oil
How to:
Make a paste out of baking soda and hydrogen peroxide. Add 2 drops or so of peppermint essential oil. Dip toothbrush and go.
Notes:
I was concerned about rumors that baking soda might be too abrasive on your tooth enamel, but as I search more that appears to be absolutely not true. According to this link: http://dukeslc.wordpress.com/2008/11/20/toothpaste-abrasion-ratings/ Baking soda is less abrasive than any other toothpaste out there.
It is also important to use a soft bristled tooth brush and not scrub like you are attacking something. I have also read a study that the combo of the hydrogen peroxide in there is very antibacterial and whitens teeth. Do not swallow any toothpaste or toothwashing mixture.
