Bannock
Ingredients:
- 3c plain braed flower
- 1tb baking powder (dont do more baking powder)
- 1tsp salt
- 1tb sugar
- Water – Slowly add until you get a firm consistency – enough to be able to roll the bread out. better to put less water in to begin with as you can always add more.
How To:
Find a stick and remove the bark. Point one end of the stick. Roll into a sausage shape. Wet hand and wet the stick (with bark off). Wrap bannock around the stick twisting the stick as you go down. Pinch the ends so it doesnt slide off. (If you have foil you can use it as a refletor for the bread (like reflector oven.) Jam the stick into the ground leaning in toward the fire. Cook slowly. Brown it off and rotate every 5-10 minutes or the outside will burn and the inside will be dough. Or squish pretty flat and fry in a pan with oil. Can add fruit, choc chips etc.
